About Us
Democracy Research Center (DRC) is an organization established in 1996 with the purpose of creating awareness among the people of Bangladesh regarding different aspects of democracy and related practices. We intend to inform the public about the democratic issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world.
We are a non-partisan, non-profit, non-governmental organization that aims to promote democracy in Bangladesh through localized observation, research and objective reporting.
We conduct public opinion polling, demographic research, content analysis and other data-driven social science research to identify the actual democratic practices in Bangladesh and compare that to the practices in developed countries of the world.
Along with that, we work on different humanitarian issues which we believe are closely related to successful democracy.
We intend to extend our cooperation towards different government and non-government agencies to educate the Bangladeshi people on their rights and to make them aware of their roles to establish sustainable democracy in Bangladesh.
Our mission
We are working to create an environment where people of Bangladesh are well aware of their roles and willing to perform their duties to establish sustainable democracy. We value independence, objectivity, severity, humanity, transparency and innovation while supporting the government to ensure a free and fair democratic rule.
